Holy Redeemer Episcopal Church

Holy Redeemer is a predominately African American church located east of downtown Denver.  Attending worship at this congregation often confronts stereotypes about African American worship services and styles. Episcopal worship services are rich in the liturgical tradition.

Shorter African Methodist Episcopal Church
10am Worship
3100 Richard Allen Court at Martin Luther King Blvd

A great opportunity to introduce your group to a more traditional African American worship service. Shorter has a rich tradition, being the first African American church established in Colorado. Worship services last around 2, 2½ hours but are lively and active. Be sure to sign the guest book upon arrival.

Cathedral Basilica of Immaculate Conception

The Basilica is the “home base” for Catholic Churches throughout Colorado. It is the largest Catholic church in Denver, located just east of downtown. If you are interested in attending a very traditional worship service, this is the place for you! The Basilica is breath-taking and beautiful. 3 daily masses and 6 Sunday masses are offered.

Iglesia Cristiana La Roca
12:30pm Worship
2606 S Sheridan Blvd

La Roca currently meets at Bear Valley Fellowship Church and worships around 100 people every Sunday. This is a Spanish speaking congregation and the service is led entirely in Spanish. The pastor, Juan Romero, as well as other church members speak English and can greet groups upon arrival. This is a great place to go if you are interested in a language-immersion experience.

Scum of the Earth

Scum of the Earth is a non-denominational congregation comprised mostly of young adults. It is for people who often feel excluded or left out of church—young adults, skaters, punks, Goths, and homeless people. This congregation is a great opportunity for young people to witness a type of worship ran by and for other young people.
